I’ve been trying to get another light in studio (i.e. my spare bedroom) to create some extra ambience, so I got the Viltrox K60 RGB LED Light Wand.

Whether you’re crafting the perfect shot for Instagram, creating a YouTube video, or setting the vibe for your next TikTok, this compact, powerful, portable, versatile and to be honest not that expensive tool might just be a useful addition to your setup.
I like this light, because it’s essentially just good at being just a light, packed with all the familiar features that you would expect to see in light’s like this in this form factor, that differentiates itself from small lights, panel lights and larger studio lights.
The most important thing that all of these lights have in common, is that they are all designed to make your content shine.
With 20 watts of power spread emitted from 266 LEDs, the K60 delivers a good amount of brightness, and the full 360 degree RGB colour spectrum means you’ve got access to over almost any colour you’d want to use.
Whether you’re looking for a soft fill light or something more dramatic, you can adjust the colour temperature between 2500K to 8500K.
For me in my studio, I was looking for a light to fill a particular space in my A roll. The small lights couldn’t fill the space enough and my larger light, the Amaran 150C, is used for a different purpose (within the shot).
But this light is able to give me that big burst of soft light that I need, whether that’s a natural light or a specific RGB colour.
If you’re used to using small lights, then you’ll be familiar with the intuitive control panel on this, that lets you dial in the exact hue, saturation, and the brightness that you need. Plus, it’s got 26 built-in scene lighting effects.
If you want to use the light hands free because maybe it’s out of reach, there’s an WeeylitePro app that controls all of the functions of this light, giving you access to wireless control, creating presets, accessing those lighting effects, finer Colour Customisation, so you can precisely dial in your desired colour temperature and hue using the app ensuring that your lighting matches the mood and theme of your whatever you are creating.
If you have more than one of these lights then you can control all of them with the app. I didn’t use the app for the first few weeks of having this, in fact, I only downloaded the app because of this video.
With everything I use this for, from keeping it in the background to using it to light up any products shots I’m doing, it’s easy enough to just use the on board controls, which thanks to the easy to use and follow display is suitable for my use.
But, if you are mounting this somewhere out of reach, which can be done with the 1/4 hole at the bottom, then you app is going to give you the convenience of being able to adjust your lighting setup without leaving your camera position. Control apps like this are designed to streamline your workflow, making adjustments efficient and hassle-free.
Content creators of all kinds are going to be able to find a good use for this light. Vloggers, filmmakers, photographers, you can use this light wand to create striking backdrops, dynamic lighting for interviews, or even add an ethereal glow to your portraits.
As this light is portable and lightweight (weighing 569g), you can take it anywhere, whether you’re shooting in your home studio, out in the wild, or in a tight urban space.
This has a 2200 mAh built-in rechargeable battery, with a battery life of up to 1.5 hours at full power, so you’ve got plenty of time to get that perfect shot and if you do need to recharge it, it can be done via USB-C and is compatible with PD and QC fast charging.
If you’re looking for light for your content, whether that’s upgrading from smaller lights because you want a bigger light coverage and spread, a light to compliment other lights, which I do, or something that means you’re not having to use those bigger lights that need to be plugged in, then this light wand might be for you.
It’s not just about illumination; it’s about creating mood, setting the scene, and adding that extra layer of professionalism to your work. It’s about giving your content the visual pop that’ll make people stop scrolling and start watching.
It’s that perfect balance of user-friendly design and advanced functionality.
